Greetings! I’m Beth Covert; I was born with a generous helping of artistic talent; I can take credit for little more than using it.
From as early as the age of four, I have been drawing, sculpting, and painting. I have my degree in Graphic Design and first opened shop by the time I was 28. Since then I have successfully made a living as an “Artist”…a blessing I don’t take for granted. My focus has changed over the course of those years, from making a living in which to raise my two children, to creating more for the pleasure of the craft and sharing the knowledge that 30 years of experimentation, research, and practice has reaped, through Beth Covert, Studio of Painted Design.
The mainstay over the years has been faux finishes and murals. Though I have murals in such diverse settings as public libraries, restaurants, stores and churches, the bulk of my work is for residential sites. Working as a team with clients, designers and architects guarantees that one-of-a-kind product to be enjoyed and cherished for years to come My mural subject is as varied as my clients, though I especially love painting animals which includes portraits of beloved pets, wildlife, farm animals, and horses…many, many horses. My faux finishes have always been a study of chemistry, technique, and tools.
Vitally important is the fact that I am forever surrounded by inspiration…through family, friends, nature and the menagerie of present, past and future, dogs, cats, horses, fish, chickens, snakes, lizards, rabbits…
